Overview
Quantity disputes are arithmetic disputes. They are resolved by method: readings taken consistently, corrections applied correctly, and a calculation the other side can follow line by line.
Our quantity work shows the full calculation in the report, along with the conditions under which the readings were taken.

- How accurate is a draft survey?
- Accuracy depends on sea state, trim, hull deflection and the quality of the vessel's tables. We state the conditions and any factor that materially affects the figure.
- Do you attend at both load and discharge port?
- Where instructed. Attendance at both ends gives the most defensible comparison.
- Is the calculation included in the report?
- Yes, in full. A quantity figure without its working is of limited use in a dispute.
- How are samples retained?
- Sealed, labelled and retained for an agreed period or forwarded to a nominated laboratory as instructed.
