Overview
A condition assessment answers a commercial question with technical evidence: is this vessel fit for the trade intended, and what will it cost to keep it there?
Scope is agreed before attendance and reported against the vessel's age, type and intended service rather than against an abstract ideal.

- Review of class status, certificates and outstanding conditions
- External hull and superstructure condition where visible

- Does a condition assessment include thickness measurement?
- Only if it is specifically instructed and a qualified thickness measurement contractor is arranged; it is not part of a standard visual condition assessment.
- Can you assess a vessel for purchase?
- Yes. Pre-purchase condition assessment is a common scope, usually with a defined level of access agreed with the seller.
- What access is required?
- Safe access to the spaces in scope. Tanks and holds require gas-free certification and appropriate entry controls; where access is not granted, the report says so.
- Do you estimate repair costs?
- We describe the work required. Cost estimation can be provided as a separate scope where sufficient information is available.
