According to IMO MSC/Circ 645 (1994) "Guidelines for Vessels with Dynamic Positioning Systems," a DP vessel's DP FMEA is the most important technical document required for operation. These benchmarking guidelines form the foundation for all subsequent DP regulations, guidance, and rules issued by Class and other industry organizations such as IMCA.
