Operational Activity Planning Services

Maritime Expertise (ME) provides operational activity planning services for all sectors of offshore marine operations, including offshore drilling, project and construction vessels, and offshore supply vessels, with a focus on dynamically positioned (DP) vessels.

ME's Critical Activity Mode of Operation (CAMO) provides guidance on how to configure the vessel's DP system, including power generation and distribution, propulsion, and position reference systems, for critical activities.

The Task Appropriate Mode (TAM) is a configuration that the vessel's DP system can be set up and operated in, while accepting that a single failure could lead to exceeding the worst-case scenario and potentially result in blackout or loss of position.

ME's Activity Specific Operating Guidelines (ASOG) are presented in a tabular format and outline operational, environmental, and equipment performance limits necessary for safe DP operations during a specific activity. The ASOG is designed in accordance with IMCA recommendations and serves as a quick reference guide for the Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO) and other relevant engineering and bridge personnel.
