TMSA compliance Audits

The Tanker Management and Self-Assessment (TMSA) best-practice guide, established by Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) is a comprehensive management system which aims at helping Tanker Operators to achieve the highest standards of ship’s safety and environmental management and continuously improvement.

It makes a clear distinction between the ship owners that merely aim to comply with the minimum requirements of the ISM code and those that embrace the spirit of the Code.

As a tanker manager committed to continual improvement, ME supports the TMSA guidelines. On a regular basis ME reviews its status with respect to TMSA Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and submits it to OCIMF.

Through its TMSA initiatives clearly demonstrate that its management approach, both ashore and afloat, is systematically and continuously directed at improving the quality of its operations and making its ships safer.

The Tanker Management and Self-Assessment (TMSA) programme provides ME with a means to improve and measure the management systems. The results from these self-assessments are used to develop an improvement plan, using the stages of attainment described in the programme, to achieve safety and environmental excellence.
